I don't think anyone needs "faith" to build an air-cycle refrigerator.

Re: Tesla's Ambient Heat Engine revisted

Oh, BTW, while we are on the subject of the "orifice" in a refrigeration system... There are of course several types. A refrigeration or heat pump system consists of two basic components. 1) a compressor or pump of some sort. 2) a tube or pipe connecting the pump outlet with the pump inlet...

Re: Tesla's Ambient Heat Engine revisted

Occasionally I do a search for the availability of any kind of small turbine, in particular Tesla turbine. There is this 3" diameter one finally appearing through several sellers on eBay, just in case anyone else is interested. Compress_20240518_065908_8453.jpg I'm not providing a link to any p...

Re: Tesla's Ambient Heat Engine revisted

According to Tesla's theory; if we had something like this setup: Compress_20240518_051903_3768.jpg If we first ran the Peltier module to cool the bottom plate. (Keeping it insulated of course, to preserve the cold). The engine could then run on the surrounding ambient heat, and with perfect insulat...

Re: Kontax KS90v thermal experiments

I was thinking of trying this, but looks like somebody beat me to it 3 years ago https://youtu.be/vsTIWhZ-6HM The top engine, (hot side of the Peltier), is, well, just watch the video. The Peltier device may not be that efficient at cooling, but it looks like it's putting out a lot of heat! I have y...

Re: Kontax KS90v thermal experiments

This is kind of interesting I think. I took the guts out of that six pack cooler. It didn't really amount to much. I wondered if the thing could run on 12 volts, maybe it could run on just 9 volts. So I found a place where I could attach a 9 volt battery on the back of the 12 volt power plug. Well, ...

Re: Kontax KS90v thermal experiments

With the long tube to power piston I'd bet it would have a better chance at running from heat of hand if the top side was the hot side. Seems like a good choice for cold bottom and ambient top side. I think the first thing I'd like to try is running one on ice and the other on heat. I'm interested ...

Re: Tesla's Ambient Heat Engine revisted

Maybe something could be done with one of these little tire inflator compressors. They actually contain a little thimble size, mechanically driven air compressor I'm pretty sure could be driven by a small LTD Stirling. Not to 300 psi obviously but it could move some air. ...Just hope this is not another one of those SE's building up to be a small bomb by self pressurization. Another one? There seems to be only one alleged or rumored anecdotal case of some such explosion, supposedly at the Phillips lab. Apparently not reported by the lab itself. about which practica...

Re: Tesla's Ambient Heat Engine revisted

Let me ask you fool. Do you doubt that evaporative cooling (using water) can reduce the temperature of the air? i.e. "swamp cooler". Why, OMG, how is that possible! Water boils at 212°F !!!!! You couldn't possibly use evaporating water to cool below 100°C !!!! Evaporative cooling with wate...
