Re: Isothermal Heat Transfer

Tom is proposing that heat energy disappears and the internal energy of the gas reduces after becoming mechanical motion. ... Is that accurate? Except that I don't consider "heat energy disappears" and "internal energy of the gas reduces" two separate. Operations. Heat going in ...

Conversely, performance of the drinking bird can be greatly enhanced by reducing ambient air pressure, as this vid demonstrates:

LOL...

The bird flipping over after being hit with the "duster" was hilarious.

Is this lunacy "established science"? https://youtu.be/V3nNgygrmsI?si=r4K7VeLnT1otan-q What happens if you raise an objection? Maybe my little LTD could utilize 21% of the heat supplied. No, that would require going to absolute zero. Perpetual motion. You can be "absolutely certain th...

Re: The TRUTH? η = 1 – (Qc / Qh) = 1 – (Tc / Th)

Noted equation: Qhz-Qcz = DQh = DT• Cv•M (Noted equation) Where: DT = Delta T = Th-Tc M = Mass Cv = specific heat. ... There is, I think, a kind of paradox in this "noted equation" that could potentially cause all kinds of problems, errors, ambiguities etc. as it is incorporated and used ...

Re: The TRUTH? η = 1 – (Qc / Qh) = 1 – (Tc / Th)

Nobody could build a Carnot engine so how could you ever "prove" it isn't "the most efficient engine possible". Well, after some thought, my reasoning was, If heat is, or isn't supposed to go through the engine and is or is not "converted" and all this is too difficult...

Re: The TRUTH? η = 1 – (Qc / Qh) = 1 – (Tc / Th)

Molecular attractive force isn't changed by temperature. Temperature is only equivalent to velocity. Nobody said temperature "changes" attractive force. Quite the opposite, I said the molecular forces are always there, just as magnetic force is always there. Cooling reduces the "repe...

Re: Isothermal Heat Transfer

Anyway, here is someone else's opinion: too little advance or retarding the ignition will push the piston down as the crank is pulling it down which will reduce the force of the gas expansion. https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=23&t=1347125 If you think the principle doesn't...

Re: Isothermal Heat Transfer

I don't see it. The gas in a Stirling is always in contact with the hot plate or cold plate. This indicates heat transfer any time the gas is a different temperature. Timing has nothing to do with heat transfer. The gas on the hot side picks up heat until moved to the cold side where it loses heat ...

Re: The TRUTH? η = 1 – (Qc / Qh) = 1 – (Tc / Th)

I can "prove" my claim.

8+8=16

16/2=8

Let Tls = Tom's left shoulder
Let Trs = Tom's right shoulder

Tls + Trs should add up to 16

Just look at the numbers!

... One leads to another. Another leads back to one. That's the way theories are. Then comes all attempts to disprove it. Round and round we go. Circular reasoning. Modern science considers theories that depend on failure of "attempts to disprove it" pseudoscience. Popper's principle of f...

.... Tom, magnets don't work that way. .... What way? I don't think I said anything about how magnets work. If you hang two magnets from strings or just push them across a table you have to apply some pressure, is all I said. Then eventually, as the magnets get closer the pressure between your fing...

Re: Isothermal Heat Transfer

Here is a Google AI summary that I think is somewhat applicable: A gas expanding into a vacuum, also known as free expansion , does no work because there is no external force opposing the expansion. Work is defined as the force applied on an object times the displacement of the object in the directi...

Re: The TRUTH? η = 1 – (Qc / Qh) = 1 – (Tc / Th)

.... ... So Qhz should have the same relation ship to Qcz that DQh has to DQc, in other words , 'n' is the same. Basically this says that Qcz can be calculated from 'n' and Qhz, or: Qcz = Qhz•(1-n) Substituting that equivalence for Qcz into the 'DQh' equation: DQh = Qhz - Qcz (DQh equation) Qcz = Q...
