Re: All Glass LTD?

Rather than screwing around with cutting jars, Corning made Pyrex glass coffee percolators in various cup sizes and one of the parts was a glass cylinder that of course is being trade marked Pyrex heat treated. Best pace to find these is a hardware store that has been around a long time. The ones I ...

Re: turbine stirling idea

The description the Sunpower site is not the same idea but it does utilize a turbine pump to drive a generator. varible phasing

In Andy Ross's book he mentions that he tested phasing from 60 degrees to 180 degrees with interesting results at narrower angles the compression became higher and more difficult to start and required higher temperatures even to run. But when it did run "it did so with great power and speed&quo...

Re: Contract Award: $1,395,953.00 For 1KWe Stirling

This being a U.S. military project they can't by law accept an engine made in China. With respect to Wispergen if they would ship to U.S. we could use those.

Re: Stirling Engine for my car

There is a military design you can pull down for a Hybrid doe a search for DTIC Hybrid Linear Generator.pdf. The generator is attached to horizontally opposed Boxer style Stirling (like original VW engine).

Re: BALLISTIC CONDUCTION, Nanostructures and Stirling Engine

There are companies that sell commercial carbon nanotubes and have been doing so for years, if you Google carbon nanotubes and graphene you will find vendors some lab supplies some larges scale. They have been using carbon nanotubes to make tires for instance and sell them by the metric tom. However...

Curiosty Martian Rover powered by Free piston Stirlings

I assume you people are aware that the Curiosity 2000 lb. (on Earth) Martian rover that landed this morning is powered by Stirling generators heated by Plutonium reactors. Here is one of the links that discusses the free piston Stirling used by Nasa and the reactors but there are numerous others inc...

Re: Barton Evaporative Engine

The Barton engine would only work if the air in the cylinder was really hot otherwise spraying water in would chill the air stopping the piston sucking up the heat of evaporation, as Bumpkin explains like an evaporation chiller cooler they use on the football players on the bench. Water injection wa...
