Re: Stirling engine software

What exactly is slow about your application? I'm not a programmer but it sounds to me link you have computations that are taking a long time to execute. If it's not 'code' related, is it an issue with the database? What Are you using? Something cheap, simple, free, like MySQL or Postgres (I don't th...

Re: Stirling engine software

IF we consider the term software to be relative than I have a resource that might be handy for you.

I've looked at it from less of an operational perspective and mode about build volumes. Still it may prove useful...

Re: Novice displacer question Surface area vs volume [PIC]

For those who are joining in, I'll repeat my original question and add one more. Q#1: Displacer volume versus Surface area what's important? It looks to me as if the displacer should be given volume to offset the power piston but that surface area could be used to good effect as well. In considering...

Novice displacer question Surface area vs volume [PIC]

I have something of a rudimentary question. It's been some time since I looks at Stirling engine mechanics and thought I'dask the group rather than building things in trial/error. What is important when it comes to displacers (other than the space gap between the cylinder wall)? http://i198.photobuc...

I'm considering making a small Stirling electric generator

I've long been intrigued by the potential of Stirling engines and have some cheap project toys here at home. I'm a handy guy but I don't have a machine shop. Here's my quick question for today: Over the past year I needed to replace my NG fired furnace and that room it's in gets way hot. (Although a...

Today is your lucky day (well maybe...)

It just so happens that I came across this video yesterday that you might find useful:

Re: "Hi" We are new here!

I'm new here (well, if I did have an account before I certainly don't recall what it was or what I posted, lol). I'm your avg hobbyist/tinkerer and sadly don't have a machine shop but I've always been intrigued by Stirling engines. I do have a cheap kit that came from Asia together with a magazine. ...
