Re: Large scale Geothermal developement

I have a picture of a 40 HP factory engine. It is 4 cylinder, each cylinder is about 3 ft diameter. It is used to run a line shaft in a factory. The information in the book says the engine had to be completely rebuilt every 3 weeks and it took 2 days to do the work. Lots of maintenance to keep such ...

Displacer cylinder piston data Experement

I am having trouble finding reliable good data especially data that I know for a fact is good data that will work to build hot air engines from scratch that will actually run. I built an experemental displacer and displacer piston and also a power piston to experement with. The displacer cylinder is...

Displacer size

I have a stirling hot air engine that I built about 15 years ago. It never would run. It tried to run but it did not have enough power to keep running. The engine was built from plans found in a stirling hot air engine book. It is a V2 engine with 1" crank and piston stroke. Power piston and di...

I am new to the Forum, here are some of my engines.

The Al-Cool Fan belonged to my Grandfather he bought it at a hardware store in 1917. I built a copy of the Al-Cool fan about 20 year ago. Since then I have built several other engines. These are by best engines. Fan by the Al-Cool Fan company of Chicago Illinois date 1917. http://www.youtube.com/wat...

Hi Wayne, Welcome to the forum! A couple of simple formulae to keep in mind. 1) The displacer cylinder is ideally divided into 1/3 cool and 2/3 hot. The displacer itself should be about 2/3 the total length of this cylinder. Also the ratio between the displacement volumes of the two cylinders is 33...
