Thanks Ian. A real nice website. They must have spent years honing their craft.

Cant find old website

I once remember seeing a website that sold a huge selection of stirling engines in the links section of this forum. I think it was a german website. Does anyone know the site i mean?
Thanks

Hello Ian. What is the difference between a v type gamma and a v type alpha?

RPM speed controller

I need a super simple way to control the rpm on a horizontal alpha engine so as to not overcharge a battery. I've seen centrifugal governors on steam engines but these require machine shop tooling to make. Is there a super simple way to control rpm mechanically without machine shop tooling? Thanks W...

Re: alpha engine question

Well with alpha, both pistons and cylinders can be identical on same crank pin 90 apart. Displacer is misnomer here. Either hot or cold piston. ]# Its a horizontal engine that looks like a gamma so no right angle to put on same pin. Im trying to copy this engine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w5R...

Re: How to create a stirling cold cycle?

After I built my Ross Yoke ALPHA motor, I joined it via a belt drive the one of my other motors, and over about 20 minutes I let them run. The ambient temperature at the time was +20*C, and at the end of the test, the end of the hot cap on the ALPHA motor was -20*C, a drop of 40*C, no doubt that if...

Re: Heavy or lightweight displaser for more horsepower?

Wellington, yes use light weight steel, or stainless steel. Weight just causes extra friction.................... Yep. I imagine the friction would go up. On another note: I remember once seeing a german website which sold lots of different stirling engines but...

Re: water jacket for hot end

It would have no comparison with an engine heated by a meths burner, the water jacket would have a maximum temperature of 100*C .......... That's good to know. I was starting to think i would need lots of pricey tubing. I've been looking at the twin syringe engines. They appeal to me because they h...
