Re: Volum alfa model

Hi Ian and all Stirling enthusiastic people. My motor have same diameter of the pistons diameter, so connected to same axel weave, the stroke volume would be the same. (2,4 ccm) But how much can a closed volume be between the cylinders without it makes trouble for the compression or transportation? ...

Re: Volum alfa model

Hi Ian and all Stirling builders. My motor will still not run even with a"regenerator". Take a look to my “Paint” ( Stir-1) , is there any measurement I can adjust? The "regenerator" is filled up with steel fiber stolen from the kitchen. Cylinder stroke volume 0,8 x 0,8 x 1,9 = 1...

Re: Volum alfa model

Hi Mike Sorry, this is bad drawing from my side. The "ventilation" is output to the cold cylinder. See S24.jpg how it was made first. The horizontal cylinder is the warm one. I am working now to add Heylandt Crown to my warm cylinder. I keep the old cylinder, but are making a bigger Hotcap...

Re: Volum alfa model

A technical question to the group: (Take a look to my last drawing: HC.jpg) I have made a new piston and a Heylandt Crown for the warm cylinder. Both are 29 mm long, The warm piston is 16 mm in diameter and HC is 14 mm diameter. How big shall the HOTCAP inner-cylinder be ? Shall HOTCAP have thin or t...

Re: Volum alfa model

Hi Ian and everybody.
How to use Heylandt Crown
Is this drawing better now before I run to the lathe?
All comments from anyone are welcome.

Re: Volum alfa model / Heylandt Crown

Hi Ian
I have made a new drawing, is this a correct understanding from my side ?
Is "Heylandt Crown" the name of the part I put on the top of the cylinder, or the function ?
Shall I warm the cylinder or the hot-cap ?

Re: Volum alfa model

The stroke is 20 mm, diameter 16 mm. Wrong relationship ? The cylinder top on the warm cylinder is made of steel, I think it will keep holding the heat from the flame. The length of the pistons is maximal. The flywheels is heavy so it can keep holding the speed. It is big different of "friction...

Re: Volum alfa model

Hi
Here is my Alpha motor. Same volume on both cylinder (4ccm), much more running friction with all parts connected.
The "regenerator" is only wood, to stop heat on the surface of the metal pipe to go between cylinders.

Re: Volum alfa model

I made a new cylinder, so both are now ca 4 ccm. But the motor will not run.
Some one told me that altitude over sea level can make problem. I live at 2200 meter.(Mexico) Have someone heard about that ?

Volum alfa model

hi
Is same volume of cylinders important on a Alfa model?
