Re: power producing engine

I tried doing the same thing, basically building a high power engine using hardware store materials (a true DIY project). I never got it to work. The most I managed to do was run the engine in reverse to produce a refrigeration effect. It would be extremely challenging. I concluded for myself that i...

Re: stirling thermodynamics

This is the energy balance: Hin - Hout = Work Hin can only be from the heater (heat source). Hout is the heat removed from the cooler plus any other source of heat (thermal) loss from the engine, such as from the regenerator or the hot cylinder walls in the expansion space. It's desired to keep thes...

Re: Air Compressor Pump Engine ????

The idea to use an air compressor as an alpha stirling is sound. There was a paper written recently by some researchers in Argentina. They took a 3 HP V-type air compressor and kept almost all the original parts such as: crankcase, flywheel, crankshaft, connection rods, pistons, piston rings and cyl...

Re: Stirling Engine Software Program

The program only works on Windows based PCs. It's a standalone executable which you run directly. If you want to run the program on other systems such as Mac/Linux/Unix you have to install PC emulation software which allows you to run Windows based programs. In the future I may create program versio...

Stirling Engine Software Program

I created a software program that can be used to design high-power Stirling engines. Since this is a Stirling engine community I figured this would be a good place to let people know about it. The program doesn't have a GUI (Graphical User Interface) like some people have come to expect from analyti...

Re: Website Links Area

I recently created a Stirling engine software program which can be used to design a high-power Stirling engine. My blog post describes this in detail:
