Gamma Engine with Bailey Linkages
I had an old Gamma engine and wanted to do something else with it, so decided to add a bailey's linkage to it. The idea was to get a smooth slow running engine with a little more horsepower than my other models. This turned out to be a successful engine and was pleased with the results. I have tried...

Very nice design for further development. Hope you have success with it as I too have been using rubber diaphragms for engines and found them to very efficient.
Some pics would be nice when you have completed the prototype.

Sure do Thanh - Been a while.
I will try to do some videos of some of the models for you and post the links. It will be a few weeks though Thanh.

Gamma Engine - Small for Mine Site Model
Thought I might share this photo of a Mine Site I just finished building for our Cairns Gemfest Next Year. It is a small Gamma engine which seems to have abundant power running a water pump from the lake to cool the engine and also runs the 3 leg Battery Stamper. Quite impressive when it is up and r...

Re: Proposed Air Cooling Tower
Hi Mike and Ian
I would be running the model for a couple of hours. Water evaporation isn't a problem as the bottom tank would be getting topped up as it is being used.

Re: Robinson Hot Air Engine
The pic shows the water pump and gearing for same. I originally had problems with the heater with so much back heat onto the burner and wood work I had to change it dramatically.

Re: Robinson Hot Air Engine
Nice one Ian - I made a few changes to the motor and also removed the door. It is now fitted with a water pump and runs extremely well. One good thing it runs at a realistic slow speed and the water cooling works quite well as the only cooling the engine has is the top plate. Here's a pic of it with...

Re: Proposed Air Cooling Tower
I see your point Ian. One of the computer radiators are cheap and seem effective as I have used them before. Possible solution is to mount the radiator up at 300mm high with a box fixed around it with vent holes in the bottom. As the radiator gets hot an airflow should start automatically from below...

Re: Proposed Air Cooling Tower
I was going to use a pump with the model using a tower to cool the water. The more I think of it though, it would have to be 400mm high for it to work as a natural ventilated system. The water at the top would be warm which would get the air flow coming in from the bottom. Feasible I think, However ...

Re: Robinson Hot Air Engine
Yep! Should have listened to you Ian - Painted it, and guess what! It would not go no matter how hard I tried  , however I eventually got it finished and operating correctly. Certainly isn't any horse power here, but it does run realistically - didn't need to add water to the cooling as it run ...

Proposed Air Cooling Tower
I am looking at making a cooling tower for one of my hot air model engine. The design will be as below, but I am wondering if anyone out there on the Forum has successfully made something like this that works.

Re: Robinson Hot Air Engine
That's quite a beautiful engine you have made Ian and I do like the radiator. I have just recently brought a computer radiator which suits a small fan and I will be looking forward to using it on a small power house like the one you have built. I must try and contact the two modelers you have mentio...

Re: Ltd engine?
Yes you can. If you look under utube SunPulse they give you the plans basically for doing it. I would expect it to be costly, especially the heating of the oil and or water. Here is the links - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OmgJsjgWpHI - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mpBa0ntXANI&feature=shar...

Re: Ltd engine?
Hi Mr Scott
The size of an LTD engine you are speaking of would be around 2 to 3 mtrs Diameter. Here is a link for you to have a look at. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iSoXWt4hBpc It is Sunpulse Engine around 1.5kW at Tamera Village.
