Hi,
Nice solution, I didn't think of that one...
I use a paper-clip pulling on the wires. Tension is regulated with a few rubberbands.

Re: Any plans or info on this type of V2 Alpha?
Hi,
To be clear, that V15 does not produce 100+ Watts as some guys on YouTube try to tell.
Read Andy Ross's comment on his YouTube account about his engines. The man knows what he' s talking about, as a lot of guys on this forum do btw.

Re: Any plans or info on this type of V2 Alpha?
Hi, Just contact Mr Ross. Very kind man btw. He does not work with that V15 engine anymore. Instead he will send you plans of an even more powerful little engine, his B-20. Very few parts. The only problem is there are no more castings available anymore. So you will have to make your own crankcase. ...

Re: The ideal kit engine?
Hi, Just contact Mr Ross and he will send you plans of his B-20 engine. This B-20 is even more powerfull. The one in your link has very close tolerances, that is the reason why he replaced it with his B-20 engine B-20 : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=402tNFGY23Q dual B-20 : http://www.youtube.com/wa...

Re: 2-cylinder Gamma engines
Ian, The two large bearings are brand-new. I will remove both sealings from the bearings(the caps to hold the grease and avoid dirt entering the bearing, don't know the correct English name) I will also remove the original grease and replace it with a shot of WD40. I will do the same with all other ...

Re: 2-cylinder Gamma engines
Ok guys, The first engine is running, the second one is almost done. They're identical. This second will be used to drive a ferris wheel. Key question is : will this work...? This 2 cylinder runs at 1000+ rpm, the ferris wheel will make one revolution every 1 or maybe 2 minutes (maybe even slower). ...

2-cylinder Gamma engines
Hi guys, This is what my pupils made over the last months. http://gti-duffel.be/4B/StirlingCD-2cilinder/2-cilinder-loc.mpg It is the same loc as last year(owne design) except this time we made a 2-cylinder version. Same procedure, my pupils made all the parts and I did the assembling of the locs (at...

Re: Hot Wire Foam Cutter
Hi,
I have built three of these foam-cutters connected to 1 PC-power supply.
I use them pretty much the same as Ian and my thirth is for cutting smaller basic blocks to be used with the other two cutters.
Not all brands of foam can be cut with these hot wires.

Hollow displacer
Hi, All articles about stirling engines mention to use well sealed displacer, seems logic to. I just stumbled into an article in a German magazine. Seems to me the displacer is hollow. Is this correct...? Will this engine work...? http://gti-duffel.be/hollow-displacer.jpg I'm not planning to build t...

Re: Calculation for Alpha stirling engine
Hi, Seems to me you choose a rather large engine to start with. Best is to contact Andy Ross, he's an Alpha engine expert. As a matter of fact, I've just started a Alpha project myself (B-20) with lots of questions.(I'm novice to in Alpha engines) Mr Ross has a few nice, powerfull and fast running e...

Re: Alpha Stirling engine B-20 (Ross)
Hi,
Did'nt thought of it myself to use a yoke device. I could have integrated it in my owne engine.
It' ll be the first time I use such a yoke device. Looks great and seems logic to.
