Re: 2-cylinder Gamma - project
Thank you for your answers! @Ian S C I know i can use RTV silicone, and i have it at home, so i could do that, but i don't like to use that, because then the engine can't be disassembled easy. The rods are perfect, it's stainless steel. If you compare them with other rods, they're very smooth. they ...

Re: 2-cylinder Gamma - project
So, as told earlier i assembled the engine on monday. All went according to plan. Tuesday we (I and my friend) started to try and get the engine to run. We started with small tea lights. That didn't work, so we moved to something that gives more heat, alcohol burnpaste. At least we even tried with a...

It is used to mount a water pipe to...

Re: 2-cylinder Gamma - project
I've been busy yesterday. I went to the shed to fix the light on my bicycle and ended up working on the stirling engine. Even cleaned up a bit of workspace so we can put the engine clean together. http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/800x600q90/577/uemh.jpg Already had assembled the diaphragm-support: h...

Re: My stirling engine project
with wich programs can this be opened?
I tried Autodesk Inventor but that didn't work. Will try Solidworks in the near future.
Maybe you can try to save it in another format? I'd like to look at the model!

Re: My stirling engine project
Aluminium in general is not the best choice for SE's. Not only for the bearing surface, but is also has a relatively low melting point, what sort of burner are you going to use? Also aluminium will expand a little bit with heat i believe? I don't know if aluminium pistons give problems? correct me i...
