Zhivko

Well done, clearly the fundamental proportions are OK, but that leak!

Perhaps the time is now right, to slow down a little and spend more time on carefull assembly.

Re: solar air pump?

Hamster I'm getting the impression that buiding a gamma is of more interest than pumping water for your vertical garden? The video link I offered was a poor choice on my part although I'm sure the operator was using a propane torch for convenience. I would recommend reading the article by Dr Colin W...

Re: solar air pump?

Hamster

I would have thought the application you have outline would be best served with a Fluidyne, silent, no moving parts, what more could you ask for?

Having built one many years ago I do remember having to spend some time 'tuning' the pulse pipe but that's just a matter of patience.

Re: large lamina flow build

Tom Where as I agree with much of your argument, I do have trouble with the idea of insulating the cylinder. The article I offered from the University of Gent, suggests that there is a performance advantage if the temperature rise during adiabatic compression can be reduced by a Desaxe offset to the...

Derwood I have published the following link before but if you missed it, it's well worth reading. https://biblio.ugent.be/input/download?func=downloadFile&recordOId=851098&fileOId=851101 I spent some time testing my vee twin pressurised TL engine and although I failed to detect any power ris...

Re: MYPOWER Stirling Generator !

Very commendable, but you fail to indicate the continuous electrical power output for this CHP, please advise.

It would also be of interest to see a video of this engine running so the low noise levels can be appreciated.

My sentiments exactly, didn't like to say as much for fear of being accused a cycnic, but I think you're spot on, sadly.

Re: Pressuriazation

Jon Like you I believe the double acting gamma offers many advantages and although I have yet to construct such an engine I have spent much time in preparation. I started by measuring the pressure changers on one of my engines using a laptop based osciloscope, then used this information to plot the ...

Re: 1kw engine plans

John I was going to suggest I send you some pictures by email of the work I've been involved with, because the file size limit on this Forum is quite restrictive, do you know how to send me a PM with your email address? There are many books on the subject of SE's, unfortunately most are based on aca...

Re: 1kw engine plans

John Am so pleased to see you are still keen after such disappointment with the V8. I don't know of any plans for a 1Kw engine so you may well have to settle down on the drawing board and design around the facilities you have, which sound adequate for the task. I do believe the double acting gamma o...

Re: Hollow displacer

Chriske This looks like a version of a transferator although most users have the 'hollow pot' facing the other way (open end towards the heater) with the end of the heater formed to fit inside the pot, I fail to see the attraction due to radiant and conductive losses through the displacer. The mass,...
