This guy, in the Netherlands, does sell two of these engines. He asks € 400,- at least, per engine.

It is often claimed that the Stirling engine has too low a power/weight ratio, too high a cost, and too long a starting time for automotive applications. They also have complex and expensive heat exchangers. A Stirling cooler must reject twice as much heat as an Otto engine or Diesel engine radiator. The heater must be made of stainless steel, exotic alloy or ceramic to support high heater temperatures needed for high power density, and to contain hydrogen gas that is often used in automotive Stirlings to maximize power.

I have one of these engines from Hyporex and it runs well, but to claim any more than a few watts out of it is ridiculous.
I'm sure the video of the workshop where the Hyporex motors are made will have been posted before, but just in case -

nickh, I, and a few others here would agree with you that the power claims are a bit optimistic. Going by the theme of this thread, I'd say you are probably lucky you got yours.

Sorry to be a spoil sport but using an internal reference for testimonials is at best subject to doubt, and at worst self serving.

Well I can vouch for at least one of those feedback comments because it was mine!
As I said, overall I am vey pleased with the engine - but I did go in with open eyes, knowing what to expect in terms of power rather than accepting the sellers claims at face value.

OK, that's not exactly what I was getting at. I am only pointing out that independent review is really the only viable means at our disposal to determine if the claims, and supposed outrage, are in fact based in merit. If the engine produces the power claimed then submit that engine for testing and let the chips fall as they may. Is an internet forum the place to have this drama unfold?

Sorry for misunderstandings for not being precise. I did not mean what I wrote to be understood as accusing anyone at Hyporex of claiming to invent the Stirling fan. The person I am refering to is named Waheed Babur. Heres is a link to the youtube news article.

It was a simple observance that the Stirling engine that powers the fan looks like the basic Hyporex engine. I think its great Hyporex is researching making an already mass produced design produce power. Im am rooting for you!

As previously mentioned, Mr. Waheed Babar is an ex employee of hyporex, we allowed him to sell fans in Pakistan, he got his own factory set-up but his production is limited to fans only. We really appreciate your encouraging comments and your concentrated observance.
