What happens if the LH diaphragm gets a magnet, and coil as well, or is that too much load?

I think tibsim said it was too much and stopped. It's on his blog. He shows several models, which shows the evolution to this version.

Here's the paper cone. It is 17cm long x 14 mm wide. Made from copy paper (20#) and corn flakes box. Electrical tape, and glue stick. Fastened to 90 degree 1/2" copper pipe elbow.

Once I get something actually working I will have a feel for it. Kind of like doing joint compound on sheetrock seams. Looks easy, but you have to have the expert skill to do it right.

I think i have identified some prolems.
1. Membranes too tight, like drum heads> loosen them
2. Cone is too stiff using copy paper> make it again using brown lunch bag paper.

Interesting engines on this post. Can someone bring me up to speed on which is the latest best performing engine of this type and a general idea on how to build one so I can begin experimenting myself. Thanks

tibsim and bladeattila I like your metronome engine, but I did not succeed to reproduce it. When I have time I will try to do it again.
