fast coke can walking beam stirling

Post by grantr »

I just posted a video of my new engine. I a very impressed with it.

It is out of balance by about an ounce. It takes about 1 ounce to balance the walking beam with the displacer attached. When I add this weight to the walking beam the engine does not run as fast and seem to shake more. How do you balance a walking beam engine? It is technically a V twin but the diaphragm and the displacer have different masses and strokes so I have no clue. It has to be clamped down.

Enjoy. :big smile:

grantr, try attaching a weight to the flywheel, you could use Blu-Tac or similar so it can be stuck on, and moved, when a spot is found where the motor doesn't bounce all over the place, you can replace it with something more permanent.
