Philips MP1002CA question

Hi!
I'd like to know how presure inside working volume of MP1002CA was regulated.

I consider two possibilities:

1. Working volume was fed with air from the crankcase through a check valve.
In this case MINIMUM working pressure inside working volume is approximately
equal to pressure inside crankcase.
2. There was no check valve. In this case air could enter working volume due to minor leaks
in piston rings. If so, AVERAGE pressure inside working volume is approximately equal to
average pressure inside crankcase.

I took a look at engine photos, at user's manual and into a Hargreaves book.
But after all I can not solve the question.

Can anyone help?

I down loaded (free) Directions for use, Philips Air-engine Generator type MP 1002 CA. There's about 22 pages of info.I think the basic static pressure is about 200psi, and is maintained by the little single acting pump in the motor, this also pumps up the reserve tank for starting.

Hi! Thank you, but I have read these instructions already. Pressure gauge is located at the frame and it measures pressure in the frame, not in the crankcase or in the working space. Pipe connection scheme in the manual and on real engine do not match.

From what I remember the pressure tank is the same pressure as the crankcase, the nominal pressure is about 200psi, often a little more.

This is a picture from fig 2a

If I didnt err,
9,5 at = 137psi
14 at = 202psi

So, pressure in the crankcase seem to be 137psi while working area has peak pressure no less than 202psi.
But this still does not answer my initial pressure.

When static a motors pressure is equal through out the motor. The pressure difference occurs when heat is apllied, the hot end pressure could be 300/400 psi depending on what temperature can be achieved.
