Hi David, I think you are stretching it a little about the submarines, Kockams submarines burn diesel in oxygen to heat the engine, and drive a propeller.
I presume that you mean by relocator is what is normally known as the displacer (some times transferer).
Yes it would work, but in the current state of development, an electric motor as the drive would be more efficient. the motor being used as the cryocooler equally produces plenty of heat that can be used also.
