Flywheel sources are abundant

I have recently discovered, old IBM hard drives have excellent precision flywheel components. I took apart 3 different makes, and found the IBM the best one so far.The Maxtor and the Seagate were at the time,(1995 or older) obviously the lesser quality by far.If you're careful, there's some nice little coils in the motors in floppy drives too.I am going to attempt to build a small three phase pm alternator, to supply a small rectifier circuit.
If I do okay, I'll then size a load for it.

Happy Tinkering!

Hard drive platters make great heat sinks, too!
