Hi,
Great forum here!

I see you are all engrossed in the "Stirling Thing". I don't believe I've ever had so much trouble sleeping as since I started pondering these amazing machines and all their possibilities.

I was in the hardware store the other day and spotted an old style metal toilet tank float and guess what...my demented mind immediately thought...Wow! that would make a great large diameter displacer, and it's already threaded on one end.

Anyway, thought I'd share that with you all. Sort of like Stirling humor I guess.

Welcome RichD,

Ya, I know what you mean about the sleep thing, kind of pisses me off at times. I have actually (just once so far) got out of bed at some early hour to wright something down. I currently have a stack of sketches from when my mind wanders at work. I'll compile them into working plans soon. I am still looking for a supplier that will sell me acrylic tubing by the foot. Six feet min. is just a bit too pricey for a tinkering model.
