I wish my barbecue has a rotisserie.

How is that for a stirling engine application?

A tiny stirling takes a very small amount of heat from a barbecue grill and direct drives a rotisserie. A tiny generator can also be attached to the stirling to power a few white LED lights for the evening so I can how the food is being cooked.

Question? How many campers are out there?

Ah, but that idea goes to a mechanic in Oklahoma.....his wife dubbed it "the chicken flinger", due to a first attempt without gear reduction, sending the bird in question out into the yard. Do a search using chicken flinger, and you might find a picture. It was a beta configuration with a round belt driving the gear reduction that was already present in the bbq unit. It still works today.

During the time it was made, there was no such thing as white LEDs. Camping is good....camping is our friend.

The tale of the Chicken Flinger can be found on page 92 of Brent Van Arsdell's book, "Around the World by Stirling Engine".

Here is a link to Craig's chicken flinger. Sorry, I don't know the bore and stroke of it.
