Thickness of hot end wall

Post by Wellington »

Can anybody tell me how thick the hot end stainless steel tube is likely to be on this engine or what would be a recommended thickness for an engine this size?:

My suggestions for wall thickness

My suggestions for wall thickness

1.5" cylinder : .0325" wall
3" cylinder : .05" - .0625"
8" cylinder : .09375"

Of course higher temperatures probably need thicker material.

Good luck !

Thanks Alfista. On a different note, do you know of any radial/rotary hot air engines that actually work and have a good rpm speed?
