My goal here is to make a pop can engine that will run without ice or water cooling. I built in a thermal break between the hot and cold sides, and I made the area of the cold side much larger than the area of the hot side. This video is my first test running of the prototype. It was slower than expected, but it continued to run like this for a long time and did not overheat.

I put this together quickly to test the design and used 5 minute epoxy on the displacer. That caused a failure after about an hour, but I sort of expected that. Now that I know it works I am going to build another one using JB Weld. I was just starting some experiments with crank shaft adjustments when the bottom fell out of my displacer.
